Biography

Wayne Enright was born and raised in British Columbia. He received his BSc from the University of British Columbia in 1968, followed by an MSc in Mathematics from the University of Toronto in 1969, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 1972. He served as Chair of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto from 1993 to 1998. His research interests are primarily in the field of Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computation, with a particular focus on the analysis and development of reliable numerical methods for ordinary differential equations and integro-differential equations as well as the design and evaluation of numerical software. Enright has served as the past president of the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS) and is currently an executive member of IFIP Working Group 2.5 on Numerical Software. He has organized several international and national conferences and has served on research evaluation panels in Canada and the UK. He is also a member of the editorial board for the ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software and has received the IFIP Silver Core Award.
