Biography

Wayne is a senior instructor in the accounting area at the Haskayne School of Business, having taught full time since 1992. He rejoined the faculty in January 2007 after previously working part-time and full-time in various roles since 1988. He holds a BComm from the University of Calgary and has attained several professional designations, including Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1983, FCPA/FCA in 2018, and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 2004. Before academia, Wayne spent 12 years at Price Waterhouse in the audit group. He significantly contributed to educational programs, achieving a 100% pass rate for UFE candidates for four consecutive years. Wayne teaches financial accounting and auditing at both undergraduate and graduate levels, alongside executive education. He has contributed to the accounting profession through more than 700 days of instruction for CPA candidates. Wayne has co-authored a widely used introductory accounting textbook in Canada and has received funding from various organizations for course development. He has also earned numerous teaching awards from the University of Calgary and professional bodies.
