Biography

Wean Sin CHEOW is an Associate Professor and Cluster Director at the Singapore Institute of Technology, specializing in Food and Chemical Biotechnology. He holds a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. CHEOW has been with SIT since 2014, where he has held various roles including Deputy Cluster Director and Programme Leader for the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Pharmaceutical Engineering. He also has experience as a lecturer and assistant professor. His research interests encompass probiotics, encapsulation, polymeric nanoparticles, controlled release, and particle engineering. CHEOW has led and contributed to several significant projects, including the Cradle-To-Gate Life Cycle Assessments for pharmaceutical manufacturing. His teaching contributions extend to several modules in Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Food Technology. CHEOW has received multiple awards for his teaching excellence and innovation in education, including the SIT Teaching Excellence Award and the ASCILITE Innovation Award.
