Wei He received BSc and MSc degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2009 and 2012 respectively. He completed his PhD at Queen Mary University of London in 2016, focusing on osmotic energy generation applications for water desalination. He joined the University of Warwick in late 2019 as a Research Fellow. Prior to this, Wei worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Global Engineering Research (GEAR) Lab and the MIT Photovoltaics (PV) Lab, where his research focused on innovations in solar energy system desalination technologies. Wei's research interests include energy storage, low-carbon heating and cooling, energy water development, and energy decarbonization. He developed a project on understanding homeowner costs and emission reductions related to low-carbon heating solutions during the academic year 2021/2022. Wei has also been involved in several funded projects related to compressed air energy storage and affordable solar home solutions.
