Biography

Jin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Boston University School of Public Health. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on developing novel Bayesian statistical machine learning methods for a broad range of problems including Bayesian nonparametrics, dynamic treatment regimes, and causal discovery. Jin conducts interdisciplinary research collaborating with domain experts to address real-world challenges in biomedical applications, electronic health/medical record data, precision medicine, and mental health cognition among people living with HIV, as well as early detection of Alzheimer’s disease. He has received several honors and awards for his work, including the Leonard J. Savage Award from the International Society for Bayesian Analysis and the Rufus P. Isaacs Graduate Fellowship from Johns Hopkins University.
