Wei Wu graduated from Peking University with a BS in Physics in 1996 and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 2003. He is a Professor in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California, having joined USC in 2012. Prior to his position at USC, he worked as a research associate, scientist, and senior scientist at HP Labs. His research focuses on applications of nanoimprint lithography in nano-electronics, nano-photonics, and plasmonics, as well as chemical sensing and nano-electrochemical cells. He has co-authored 127 peer-reviewed journal papers, garnered 12,489 citations, and contributed to two book chapters and over 150 conference presentations, including 16 keynote invited talks. Wu holds 121 granted patents, with half filed internationally, and has an H-index of 54. He serves as a co-editor for Applied Physics and as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials. Wu was recognized as an IEEE Nanotechnology Council Distinguished Lecturer in 2015 and 2016, and he received the USC Stevens Center Innovation Commercialization Award in 2020. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
