Biography

Wei Zhang obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Ocean University of China in 2012 and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Auckland in 2018. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Western University and UC Berkeley. Currently, Wei is a lecturer in Statistics at the University of Sydney. He is an ecological statistician specializing in statistical modeling and computational methods for complex models. Wei has been involved in the development of software packages such as nimble, nimbleSCR, and nimbleEcology. His research aligns with the Faculty of Science's Research Strengths in Complex Systems, Precision Digital Health, Data Decisions, and National Security.
