Wen Liu joined the Energy & Resources group at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University, as a senior researcher in March 2015. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, a Master's degree in Environmental Science, and a PhD in the field of energy planning. Dr. Liu's current research focuses on geo-resources technologies for heating purposes, including geothermal energy and thermal energy storage in the built environment. His research aims to develop methodologies and tools that allow for integrated assessment of multiple geo-resources exploitation and utilization within the context of a sustainable energy transition. Additionally, Dr. Liu serves as the coordinator for the master's course on Energy in the Context of Sustainability in the Master Program in Energy Science. He is also an Assistant Editor for the international Journal of Energy published by Elsevier.
