Biography

Wen Ng completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Monash University in 2017. Shortly thereafter, he returned to pursue a postgraduate research degree, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy in 2022. Currently, he holds a position as a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Engineering at Monash University Malaysia. His primary research focuses on renewable energy, particularly solar hydrogen nanotechnology. He is involved in the engineering design and development of efficient semiconductor-based photoelectrodes for solar-to-fuel (hydrogen) applications. In light of the significant increase in global energy consumption due to industrialization and population growth, his work aims to address the environmental impacts associated with fossil fuel reliance and contribute to sustainable hydrogen production. His research includes the rational design of nanostructured semiconductor-based photoelectrode materials and the development of strategies for nano-architectural modification, which are crucial for achieving high solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency.
