Dr. Wendy Demartini

Biography

Wendy DeMartini is a Professor in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she also serves as the Associate Chair for Clinical Faculty Affairs. Prof. DeMartini is recognized for her work in high-quality patient care, clinical research, and education, with a focus on breast imaging. She completed her fellowship in Breast Imaging at the University of Washington and has held faculty positions at several esteemed institutions, including the University of Wisconsin, where she served as Professor and Chief of Breast Imaging. She has contributed over 100 research presentations, abstracts, publications, review articles, and book chapters. Her research is primarily directed towards optimizing the detection and evaluation of breast cancer using evidence-based imaging tests. Additionally, she has been involved as an investigator in studies related to breast MRI funded by the National Cancer Institute and the American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN). Prof. DeMartini is a renowned educator, frequently lecturing on breast imaging topics nationally and internationally. She has served as Co-Director of the ACR Education Center Breast MRI Biopsy Course and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Radiologic Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI), where she was elected as a Fellow in 2009 and served as President in 2017-2018.
