Biography

Wendy Duff is a Professor at the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto, where she teaches courses in archival access and community archives. Her research and publications focus on archival access, users of archives, and the evaluation of archives. Currently, her research explores the impact of archives on social justice. Professor Duff is a Principal Investigator and received a SSHRC Insight Development Grant in 2014 to investigate the impact of archives on social justice. Along with colleagues Elizabeth Yakel and Helen Tibbo, she received grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the National Historical Publications & Records Commission to support their work on the Archival Metrics Project, which aims to promote a culture of assessment in the archival domain by creating standardized user-based evaluation tools and performance measures.
