Biography

Wendy Graham is a Professor in the Discipline of Family Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she has been a faculty member since 2000, rising through the ranks from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in 2012 and then to Professor in 2024. She holds an MD degree from Memorial University, which she completed in 1997, followed by a Family Medicine Residency in 1999. Dr. Graham is dedicated to advancing research skills development among rural and remote physicians, evidenced by her role as Co-Lead of the 6for6 faculty development program, which focuses on teaching research writing skills to participants. The program has successfully trained 44 participants to date and aligns with Memorial's social accountability mandate. Dr. Graham also contributes to the Faculty Development Committee and leads activities focused on health policy and faculty development initiatives in Family Medicine. Her extensive involvement in medical organizations includes serving as President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association and founding roles in both the Family Practice Renewal Committee and the Long Range Family Practice Network. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades for her excellence in teaching and leadership, including the CFMS Champion/Cultural Changers Award and the Newfoundland and Labrador Family Physician of the Year award. Dr. Graham's philosophy of teaching is significantly influenced by her experiences in a rural practice setting, which underscores her commitment to improving community health outcomes through scholarship and leadership.
