Dr. Wendy Scholten Peeters

Biography

Wendy Scholten-Peeters is a Full Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam specializing in musculoskeletal health and rehabilitation. Her research primarily investigates the underlying mechanisms of musculoskeletal pain and the efficacy of physiotherapy treatment methods. With over 110 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, she has significantly contributed to the fields of manual therapy and physiotherapy. Wendy is actively involved in educating both Bachelor and Master students in physiotherapy and has chaired several committees, including the educational safety committee for the Dutch Association of Manual Therapy. She has presented her work at various national and international conferences and engages in developing evidence-based guidelines for treating back and neck pain. Current ancillary roles include being the director of the Wervelkolom Instituut and chair of the MSG Science network for Physiotherapy. Lee has committed to advancing physiotherapy practices and educating health professionals through her extensive involvement in academia and research activities.
