Biography

Wendy Silverman is a Professor of Child Psychiatry and the Director of the Yale Child Study Center Program for Anxiety Disorders. She received her Ph.D. in 1981 from Case Western Reserve University. Over the past several decades, Dr. Silverman has published extensively in the field of child and adolescent anxiety disorders, contributing numerous scientific papers, book chapters, and five books on the subject. She has been a principal investigator on research grants from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), focusing on the development and evaluation of treatments for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Silverman has also received the NIMH mid-career development award (K24) and has served as Chairperson of the NIMH intervention grant review panel. Her editorial roles include Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, and she is currently Co-Editor of Clinical Psychology Review.
