Dr. Wendy Stubbs

Biography

Wendy Stubbs is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Her research seeks to understand business holistically to address environmental, social, and economic responsibilities. She obtained her PhD in 2006, focusing on corporate sustainability, and developed a 'sustainability business model' that integrates sustainability into the core of business practices. Wendy has been recognized as a pioneering scholar in the field of business models for sustainability and continues to investigate the emergence of new business models, including B Corporations, which use business powers to solve social and environmental problems. Her recent research examines sustainability reporting and integrated reporting, enhancing accountability and stewardship while improving management of environmental, social, human, and financial capital. Wendy has taught Corporate Sustainability and related courses for over 15 years at Monash University and has significant prior experience as a senior executive in the telecommunications industry. In 2024, she was named a Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS, placing in the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide in sustainability.
