Biography

Wendy White is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Public Health at Brown University and also serves as the Principal Investigator and Director at the Jackson Heart Study Undergraduate Training Education Center (JHS-UTEC) at Tougaloo College. With over 17 years of experience working at the Jackson Heart Study, her responsibilities are two-fold: engaging in health disparities research and mentoring college and high school students pursuing careers in public health, medicine, and biomedical research. Her research areas include active participation in Genome Wide Association studies and various collaborations that have led to numerous published articles. In August 2015, she was appointed as a Fellow at the American Heart Association Tobacco Regulation Addiction Center (A-TRAC). Dr. White has taught several courses, including “Introduction to Public Health Epidemiology” and “Research Methods in Public Health,” and has successfully mentored over 200 college students through the JHS Scholar Program, guiding them in their academic and professional journeys in public health and health administration.
