Biography

Wenjia Joyce Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Warwick. Her research focuses on understanding the cognitive basis of decision making, utilizing behavioral experiments, process-tracing methods, and mathematical computational models. The aim of her research program is to explore how decision makers integrate information and make choices, particularly through the lens of sequential sampling models. She seeks to extend the scope of these models by specifying the content inputs involved in the information integration process. Zhao is involved in developing models that describe process-level data regarding how decision makers search for information both internally (from memory) and externally (from displays on computer screens). Her work aims to provide unifying modeling frameworks for the study of preferential choice.
