Biography

Wenjuan Song is a Lecturer at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, UK. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University in China in 2019. Her professional experience includes a research assistant role at the Robinson Research Institute, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand from 2016 to 2018, followed by a postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath from 2019 to 2021. Dr. Song's research focuses on accelerating the net-zero transition in the transport sector, particularly in aviation and high-speed rail marine systems electrification. She is also involved in developing sustainable and highly efficient renewable energy systems utilizing innovative superconducting technology and artificial intelligence techniques. Dr. Song has authored over 50 research papers in international high-impact journals and conferences. She has served as Vice-Chair of the IEEE PES Women in Power and has been recognized for her contributions to engineering and academia, being featured on International Women’s Day and in collaborations with the European Cooperation in Science and Technology. Additionally, she is active in organizing significant conferences and special issues in renowned journals within her research domain.
