Whitney Lynn works across a wide range of media to explore the role of images in the construction of myth, illusion, power, and desire. Her projects investigate perceptual traps and the overlaps between military and civilian cultures, while also addressing shifting depictions of forbidden knowledge. Lynn has exhibited internationally at venues including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art, and Centro Bahía. She created site-responsive public art projects for the San Diego International Airport and the city of Reno, as well as for Seattle's Office of Arts & Culture. With experience as an Artist-in-Residence at the de Young Museum and the Neon Museum, Lynn is currently an Artist Fellow at the Black Cube Nomadic Art Museum. She is completing a monumental installation that invites viewers to examine the history of publicly staged nuclear testing in Nevada. Her research and creative work reflect a critical engagement with contemporary cultural narratives and artistic practices.
