Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Will Gutekunst. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Will Gutekunst is an Assistant Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his B.S. from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 and completed his Ph.D. at the Scripps Research Institute in 2013. Following his doctoral studies, he was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 2013 to 2016. His research focuses on the synthesis and design of complex macromolecular systems through innovative synthetic organic chemistry techniques. The Gutekunst Lab explores the construction of functional polyamides, development of small molecule reagents for dynamic modulation of branched polymer architectures, and new concepts for creating covalent bonds in challenging contexts. The lab aims to generate new functional materials and structures, providing students with extensive training in synthetic organic chemistry, polymer synthesis, and characterization.
