Biography

Will Rasmussen majored in Classics at Dartmouth College (USA) and studied Literae Humaniores at Oxford, teaching Classics at the secondary school level. In 2001, he began his PhD studies at King’s College London, completing a dissertation on Plato’s use of apparent doctrinal inconsistencies in the 'Charmides', encouraging readers to challenge their own understanding of knowledge, particularly related to 'Socratic wisdom' or the knowledge of knowing. He currently serves as a Matilal Lecturer in Indian Philosophy, focusing entirely on the teaching of modules in this area at King’s and supervising postgraduate research students. His research interests include Indian philosophy and the Orthodox and Heterodox Schools associated with this discipline. Will is dedicated to guiding and supporting students in their academic endeavors in understanding the complexities of philosophical traditions from India.
