Dr. William Forbath

Biography

William E. Forbath holds the Lloyd M. Bentsen Chair at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where he is a Professor of History and also serves as Associate Dean of Research. An accomplished author, his recent work includes 'The Anti-Oligarchy Constitution: Reconstructing Economic Foundations of American Democracy' (with Joseph Fishkin). Forbath is widely published on legal constitutional history, comparative constitutional law, and legal theory. His scholarship includes topics such as constitutional politics and the historical role of law in the labor movement. He contributes to various media outlets, writing on pressing legal and constitutional issues. In addition to his position at UT Austin, Forbath has taught at prestigious institutions such as UCLA, Sciences Po, Tel Aviv University, Columbia University, and Harvard University.
