Biography

William H. J. Hubbard is the Clifton R. Musser Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School and the Deputy Dean. He earned his Juris Doctor with high honors from the University of Chicago Law School in 2000 and completed his PhD in Economics from the same institution in 2011. Prior to joining the faculty in 2011, he practiced as a litigation associate at Mayer Brown LLP, where he focused on commercial litigation and electronic discovery. His research primarily centers on the economic analysis of litigation, civil procedure, and the functioning of courts. Professor Hubbard is a co-author of 'Court Trial: Data-Driven Account Supreme Court India' and the author of 'Civil Procedure: Integrated Approach.' He has also been an editor for the Journal of Legal Studies since 2013 and has held several academic appointments including Visiting Assistant Professor at Harvard Law School. His contributions to legal education and scholarship have been recognized by various awards and fellowships, and he remains actively involved in numerous professional organizations and editorial boards.
