William Klein studied history and political thought under Quentin Skinner at Cambridge and J.G.A. Pocock at Johns Hopkins. After completing his Ph.D., he worked as a carpenter and freelance writer/editor for over a decade. He then joined Yale University and New York University, where he taught in the honors program and was chair of Law, Ethics, and Religion in the Global Liberal Studies program. Klein has published studies on the history of constitutional political thought, focusing on figures such as Thucydides and Hobbes.
