Dr. William Lamb

Biography

William Lamb is a professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on metamorphic petrology and geochemistry, specifically the characterization of metamorphism in the Earth's crust and mantle. He investigates temperatures and pressures as well as the compositions and movements of fluids in these geological processes. His extensive research includes fieldwork and various analytical techniques such as petrography, microprobe analyses, phase equilibria studies, and fluid inclusions analyses, both natural and synthetic. Additionally, stable isotopic analyses play a critical role in his work, contributing to a deeper understanding of metamorphic processes. Dr. Lamb earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1987, marking the beginning of a distinguished career dedicated to advancing knowledge in the field of geology.
