Biography

William Clyde Lindsey is a Professor Emeritus in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1962. Dr. Lindsey is an internationally recognized expert in the field of Communication Sciences, with over thirty years of experience in deep space satellite communication system architecture, engineering, design, analysis, and simulation. Dr. Lindsey has published more than 140 papers on topics related to communication and information theory and holds multiple patents, many of which have been implemented in communication satellite systems, ground stations, and mobile communications receivers worldwide. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Lifetime Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and honors, held various positions of relevance in professional associations, and contributed significantly to the advancement of communication synchronization systems.
