Dr. William Pu

Biography

William Pu is an Assistant Professor in the PhD Program in Biological Biomedical Sciences at Harvard University, affiliated with Boston Children's Hospital. His research focuses on cardiovascular development and disease, aiming to develop new therapies for pediatric heart disease. The Pu laboratory integrates molecular biology, functional genomics, cardiac physiology, genome editing, stem cell biology, and bioengineering to understand cardiovascular gene regulation, cell fate determination, and disease mechanisms. His projects include studying gene regulatory mechanisms in cardiac development and disease, regulation of cell fate in heart and vascular development, and creating human microphysiological models of cardiac disease. Pu is also engaged in genetic therapies for cardiac disease, employing human and mouse model systems to dissect the mechanisms of heart disease and guide the development of novel targeted therapies.
