Biography

William Rogerson is a Charles E. Emma H. Morrison Professor at Northwestern University, where he also serves as the Director of the Business Institutions Program. He earned his PhD from the California Institute of Technology in 1980. His primary research interests focus on industrial organization, antitrust, regulation, telecommunications, cost accounting, and defense procurement. Professor Rogerson is currently involved in various roles at Northwestern, including Director of the Center for Business Institutions and Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Industrial Organization. Additionally, he acts as Research Director for the Competition and Antitrust Regulation at the Searle Center for Law and Economics. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and has worked as a consultant for several government agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, Institute for Defense Analysis, Logistics Management Institute, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the RAND Corporation. In the academic year 1998-1999, he served as the Chief Economist at the Federal Communications Commission, further enhancing his contributions to the fields of economics and regulatory policy.
