Dr. William Rosenblatt

Biography

William Rosenblatt, MD, is a professor of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine with an extensive background in managing difficult airways, particularly in head and neck surgery contexts. He completed his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and went on to finish his residency in Pediatrics at Stanford University Hospital, followed by Anesthesiology residency at Yale. Dr. Rosenblatt has made significant contributions to the field, notably through the development of the Airway Approach Algorithm and the Preoperative Endoscopic Airway Examination. His work focuses on improving tools and protocols for airway management, enhancing safety and effectiveness in surgical procedures. He is known as a founder of REMEDY (Recovered Medical Equipment Developing World), which distributes unused medical supplies globally. As a past president of the Society of Airway Management and a current member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, he actively participates in task forces addressing difficult airway management protocols. Dr. Rosenblatt has received numerous accolades, including the Rolex Award for Enterprise and various national and regional honors for his contributions to anesthesiology and community service.
