Biography

Dr. Saunders joined the Haskayne School of Business as an Assistant Professor in 2007 and holds adjunct appointments in the Department of Community Health Sciences and the Department of Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine. He is the eHealth Services Strategy Lead at a healthcare innovation incubator, Ward 21 century (W21C). He has a BSc in Applied Mathematics (1996) and an MBA in Information Systems (2000), both from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Calgary (2006). Dr. Saunders has developed and taught courses in entrepreneurship, innovation management, information systems, project management, and qualitative research methods at various institutions including the University of Calgary and Memorial University of Newfoundland. His teaching covers graduate and undergraduate courses on entrepreneurship. His research focuses on management, governance, and innovation in organizations, emphasizing the effective use of technology and social enterprises. Dr. Saunders has published in leading journals such as Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, and Research Policy. His research is supported by grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, Canadian Foundation for Innovation, and other organizations.
