Dr. William Simpson

Biography

William Simpson is a Civitas Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin and held positions as a Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford and Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. He earned dual doctorates in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and in Physics from the University of St. Andrews. He has been recognized for his academic contributions with awards such as the Expanded Reason Award in 2020 and the Springer thesis prize in 2014. In 2021, he received the Cardinal Mercier Prize in International Philosophy. His recent publications include 'Hylomorphism' published by Cambridge University Press in 2023 and he has co-edited several works including 'Neo-Aristotelian Perspectives on Contemporary Science' and 'Neo-Aristotelian Metaphysics, Theology, and Nature', both from Routledge.
