Dr. William Turley

Biography

William Turley is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Manchester, where he has contributed to the field of accounting since 1994. He has held various senior management roles within the university, including Head of the Manchester School of Accounting and Finance and Associate Dean for Postgraduate Taught Programmes. His scholarly work focuses on audit methodology and the regulation of auditing practices, including the evolving standards and the ethical implications of auditing. Professor Turley has a wealth of experience in doctoral supervision, having guided over fifteen students to the successful completion of their doctorate. His recent supervisory work includes topics like sustainability assurance and the impact of audit committees on corporate governance. Additionally, he has served on numerous editorial boards and committees, including the Auditing Practices Board in the UK.
