Biography

William Whittaker is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester specializing in Health Economics. He has extensive experience in both teaching and research, focusing on equitable access to healthcare, healthcare inequalities, and resource allocation. His professional journey includes positions as Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, Research Fellow, and Research Associate within Health Economics at the University. Whittaker has led numerous funded projects including the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and studies on aging and health system planning. His teaching contributions include directing the MSc Economics program with a health specialization, and supervising postgraduate dissertations in Public Health Economics. His research interests delve into healthcare inequalities linked to sexual orientation and the optimization of health resource allocation. As a member of several professional bodies, including the Health Economics Study Group and the International Health Economics Association, he actively contributes to the field of health economics through collaborative projects and leadership roles.
