Wilson Luu graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Optometry (Hons) in 2015. After graduating, Wilson worked in both corporate and independent optometry practices across rural New South Wales and metropolitan Sydney, and he traveled overseas to provide eye care to the Nepalese community at Everest. He is qualified to prescribe ophthalmic medicines and manage eye diseases. His areas of interest include low vision, myopia control, contact lenses, and ocular pathology, particularly the use of artificial intelligence technology in eye care. Wilson completed his PhD at the Centre for Eye Health, School of Optometry and Vision Science (UNSW) in 2022, where he researched the use of virtual reality for assessing vision. He currently serves as a Lecturer and Clinical Supervisor at the UNSW School of Optometry and Vision Science, and he has convened Stage 4 and Stage 5 clinical courses in Optometry.
