Dr. Wing Fai Leung

Biography

Wing-Fai Leung is a Reader in Cultural Media Industries and Pro-Vice Dean for Research Culture at King's College London. Leung has taught and conducted research at institutions including University College Cork in Ireland, Academia Sinica in Taiwan, and the University of St Gallen in Switzerland. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Hong Kong and the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Her research interests encompass East Asian film and media industries, digital entrepreneurship, cultural creative labor, and the representations of East and Southeast Asians on screen. Leung has served on the executive committee for the Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association and has been a member of editorial boards for several academic journals. Her publications include books such as 'Migration and Identity in British East and Southeast Asian Cinema' (2023) and 'Digital Entrepreneurship, Gender and Intersectionality: An East Asian Perspective' (2018). She is actively engaged in public discussions through various media outlets and has given numerous public lectures on East Asian films.
