Winnie Ye is a Full Professor in the Department of Electronics at Carleton University, specializing in sustainable energy technologies such as photovoltaics and environmental sensing. She is recognized for her research in silicon photonics applications in telecommunications, data communication, biophotonics, and renewable energy. Dr. Ye earned her B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University and holds M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and Carleton University, respectively. She became a teaching fellow at Carleton University in 2019, awarded the Provost’s Fellowship Teaching Award for her excellence in teaching and mentorship.
