Wissam Aoun is an Associate Professor at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law since July 2019. He previously served as an Assistant Professor and held a three-month term as Acting Associate Dean (Academic) in April 2021. Aoun has received multiple teaching and scholarly awards, including the Hon. Justice Robert Abbey Award for Outstanding Special Lecturer at Windsor Law and the University Faculty Achievement Award from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2018. He has collaborated on various research and education projects involving international IP institutions like the USPTO, European Patent Office, and World Intellectual Property Organization. He has also been a visiting researcher at Oxford University and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. Wissam holds a JD and an LLM from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and completed his PhD at Osgoode Hall Law School under the supervision of Professor David Vaver.
