Biography

Wm. Matthew (Matt) Kennedy is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow whose research focuses on AI ethics, sociotechnical safety, and political economy. He is particularly interested in the epistemic harms and the decolonial aspects of AI. His previous positions included research fellowships at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Sussex, along with experience in the technology industry where he structured evaluations for AI systems. Kennedy's upcoming project at the Oxford Internet Institute will investigate the colonial past as a source for sociotechnical foresight guiding AI systems' development and governance.
