Wolfgang Heinrich received PhD and Habilitation degrees in 1987 and 1992, respectively, from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. In 1993, he became Head of the Microwave Department and Deputy Scientific Director at the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut (FBH) in Berlin, Germany. Since 2008, he has been a Professor at the Technical University of Berlin. He has authored or co-authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and conference contributions. His present research interests include MMIC design with an emphasis on GaN and InP power amplifiers, as well as mm-wave and sub-mm-wave integrated circuits packaging and electromagnetic simulation. Dr. Heinrich has served the microwave community in various capacities, including as Distinguished Microwave Lecturer from 2003 to 2005, chairman of the German IEEE MTT/AP Chapter from 2002 to 2007, and chair of the MTT-12 Committee on interconnects, packaging, and manufacturing from 2006 to 2008. He was also an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques from 2008 to 2010 and was the President of the European Microwave Association (EuMA) from 2010 to 2018. He received the 2019 EuMA Distinguished Service Award and the 2020 IEEE MTT Distinguished Service Award.
