Biography

Wolfgang Hönig is a Robotics Researcher at TU Berlin, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science. He heads the Intelligent Multi-Robot Coordination Lab, focusing on enabling large teams of physical robots to collaboratively solve real-world tasks. His research leverages informed search, optimization, and machine learning techniques. Wolfgang completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science under the supervision of Nora Ayanian, before which he served as a postdoctoral scholar in Aerospace at Caltech, advised by Soon-Jo Chung. He has held various academic positions including Independent Junior Research Group Leader and has industrial experience as a Research Scientist Intern at Amazon Robotics and as a Senior Software Engineer at NVIDIA. Outside of research, Wolfgang enjoys hiking, hanging in a hammock, and woodworking.
