Dr. Wolfgang Ketter

Biography

Wolfgang Ketter is a Professor of Generation Information Systems at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has been with RSM since 2007, where he also served as Academic Director of the Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics and is a founding member of the Learning Agents Research Group. His previous role was as Director of the Erasmus Centre for Future Energy Business and Chair of the annual Erasmus Energy Forum. Additionally, he holds a full-time position as a Chaired Professor of Information Systems at the University of Cologne. His research primarily addresses sustainability issues by leveraging advanced computing technologies to design and govern new market mechanisms. He is particularly noted for his work in competitive benchmarking paradigms that facilitate shared learning environments among researchers. Ketter's extensive publication record includes numerous papers in top-tier journals and he has supervised twenty Ph.D. students. He is an editorial board member for leading journals and has received several awards recognizing his contributions to the field, including multiple INFORMS awards. His work often intersects with energy economics, artificial intelligence, and market design, making him a prominent figure in discussions regarding sustainable energy and digital markets.
