Dr. Won Oh

Biography

Won Taek Oh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa and Pusan National University. His research primarily focuses on Geotechnical Engineering, with special interests in unsaturated soils, retaining wall earth pressure, ground improvement techniques, and slope stability. He has contributed significantly to the field through various keynote lectures and refereed journal articles, examining topics such as the mechanical properties of soils, bearing capacity estimation, and problematic soils. His teaching experience includes courses on Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering, and advanced foundation engineering topics. Oh is actively involved in the academic community, presenting his research at international conferences and collaborating on innovative solutions to address challenges in geotechnical engineering.
