Biography

Woongkul (Matt) Lee received his B.S. degree from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, in 2013, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He served as a postdoctoral research associate at the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics Consortium (WEMPEC), where he focused on advanced motor drive technology using wide bandgap (WBG) devices. In 2020, he joined Michigan State University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests encompass high-performance motor drives, power electronics, electric machines, and distributed energy resources.
