Wouter van der Wijngaart received his M.Sc. degree in Electrotechnical Engineering and a degree from the Philosophic Academy in Mathematics Education from KU Leuven, Belgium, in 1996. He earned his Ph.D. in microsystem technology from KTH in 2002, and he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005 and Full Professor in 2010. His research interests primarily focus on microfluidic lab-on-a-chip systems, micro/nanostructured soft matter, and biomedical microdevices.
