Dr. Wu Sheng Lu

Biography

Wu-Sheng Lu is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria. He has obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University, a Master of Science degree from East China Normal University, and both a Master of Science and a PhD from the University of Minnesota. With a solid academic foundation, Lu has become a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). His expertise lies in communication, signal processing, and control, with research interests that encompass digital signal processing, numerical optimization methods, design and analysis of digital filters, wavelets, and filter banks. His work is particularly focused on applications in telecommunications and image processing, alongside mathematical and quantitative methods. Lu's contributions to the field have established him as a respected figure in electrical and computer engineering, and he continues to influence the next generation of engineers through his teaching and research activities.
