Biography

Wuwei Feng is a tenured Professor in the Department of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. He serves as the Chief of the Division of Stroke & Vascular Neurology and the Medical Director of the Duke Comprehensive Stroke Center. As a board-certified vascular neurologist and physician-scientist, his research focuses on developing imaging biomarkers for post-stroke motor outcomes prediction and employing non-invasive brain stimulation tools like transcranial direct current stimulation and vagus nerve stimulation to enhance post-stroke recovery. Feng is currently leading a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded multi-center phase II trial called TRANSPORT 2, aimed at improving post-stroke recovery through innovative stimulation techniques. Over his career, he has published more than 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to stroke recovery, including the Rehabilitation Award from the American Heart Association and the Franz Gerstenbrand Award from the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation. He has also served as an associate editor for the journal Translational Stroke Research and has been actively involved in mentoring through initiatives organized by the WFNR.
