Biography

Xavier Gasparutto holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in biomechanics from Lyon University and a PhD focusing on biomechanics, particularly in kinematic dynamic modeling of the lower limb. He pursued a postdoctoral position at TU Delft in the Netherlands, where his research concentrated on the biomechanics of pitching in baseball, with a specific emphasis on the upper limb. His work has involved full-body shoulder dynamics and the development of musculoskeletal models for the shoulder, as well as the creation of real-time feedback systems for elite pitchers. In October 2017, he joined the research team in Geneva, where his research interests include methodological developments integrating motion capture and medical imaging, and clinical research aimed at evaluating the functional outcomes for patients undergoing total hip and knee arthroplasty.
