Biography

Xianbin Wang is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western University, where he holds a Tier-1 Canada Research Chair. He received his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2001. His extensive research has produced over 600 highly cited publications and 35 patents, focusing on groundbreaking advancements in wireless communications and physical layer security for 5G technologies. Prior to joining Western University, he worked as a Senior Research Scientist at the Communications Research Centre Canada from 2002 to 2007, and as a system designer at STMicroelectronics from 2001 to 2002. Fessenden Medal and multiple IEEE Paper Awards. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Engineering Institute of Canada, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Wang has also served in various editorial roles and organized numerous IEEE conferences, showcasing his leadership in the academic community.
