Xiang Zheng is an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University specializing in spatial proteomics to enhance precision approaches in oncology and dermatology. He earned his Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and began his cancer research career during his master’s studies at Peking University, China. He received his PhD in Human Biomedicine from the Max Planck Institute in Germany, focusing on multiplexed imaging for lung cancer biomarker identification and tumor microenvironment reprogramming. In 2021, he joined Prof. Matthias Mann’s group at the University of Copenhagen as a postdoctoral researcher, where he developed the multiplexed imaging Deep Visual Proteomics (mipDVP) technique to advance spatial proteomics and resolve tumor–immune interactions at single-cell resolution. In 2024, he became an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University, under the mentorship of Prof. Robert Fenton, applying mipDVP to drive precision medicine research and translate spatial proteomics insights into clinical applications. He aims to establish an independent research group in Denmark with the support of a prestigious international fellowship. Xiang has authored 21 publications, serves as a peer reviewer for eight journals, and has received 16 international awards, including the Emerging Technologies Funding Award.
