Biography

Xiao-Jing Wang is a Professor and the Robert E. Stowell Endowed Chair in Experimental Pathology at UC Davis Health. He serves as the Chief Science Officer and Associate Director of Basic Science at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research interests focus on the molecular mechanisms of cancer, specifically the role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer progression and metastasis, mechanisms of immune evasion, and the properties of cancer stem cells. His laboratory explores experimental therapeutics and various therapeutic interventions for cancer, including radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. Additionally, he investigates how radiation therapy affects DNA damage-induced neoantigen production in tumor cells and the systemic effects in the microenvironment. He has contributed significantly to the understanding of chronic wounds and inflammatory diseases. He holds a B.A. from Beijing Medical University and earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from the same institution. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Anderson Cancer Center in Texas.
